The National Hajj Commission chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah, Kunle Hassan (NAHCON) has assured that the commission will explore every opportunity to deepen the already cordial relationship with Oyo state.

 National Hajj Commission To Deepen Relationship With Oyo As Makinde's Aide, Wale Ajani Hosts the Chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah Hassan, Solicits For More Slots

The National Hajj Commission chairman, Alhaji Zikrullah, Kunle Hassan (NAHCON) has assured that the commission will explore every opportunity to deepen the already cordial relationship with Oyo state.

The NAHCON boss made this disclosure during his courtesy visit to the Director-general Oyo State Liaison Office Abuja and Lagos, Wale Ajani at the Oyo House in Abuja on Thursday Sept 22.

Alhaji Zikrullah who expressed his joy over Ajani's strategic visits to federal government departments, ministries, agencies (MDAs) said he was eager to meet the Governor's aide to seek for ways of deepening the already cordial relationship with Oyo state.

He noted that Oyo state has gained more prominence in terms of presence among federal MDAs following Ajani's various strategic visits to seek for ways to bring more federal presence to Oyo state.

While commending pilgrims from Oyo state to the 2022 Hajj, the NAHCON boss added that the commission was willing and ready to support the state further in terms of pilgrims welfare.

He also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for placing high premium on the welfare and wellbeing of pilgrims from Oyo state and more particularly, residents in the state.

Ajani, in his remarks expressed appreciation to the Chairman NAHCON Chairman for honouring Oyo state Governor which was manifested by his unscheduled visit to Oyo House in Abuja.

While commending the commission for being proactive in its mandate and being responsive to the wellbeing of pilgrims in the country, Ajani appealed for more robust collaboration between oyo state government through the pilgrim's welfare board and National Hajj Commission.

Listed among the support expected from the commission by Ajani are hitch free and seemless Hajj process for intending pilgrims from oyo state as well as ceding of more pilgrimage slots for oyo state indigenes in the next Hajj season which would commence soon. 

"Sir, you are doing a great job for this nation through the National Hajj Commission and your success story spans beyond Abuja to every state of the federation. 

"Like Oliver twist, we'd like to appeal for more slots to our people in Oyo state so that we can have the opportunity as a state to have our people perform one of the five pillars of Islam in the Holy land even as the season fast approaches." Ajani said.

The Chairman of NAHCON, Alhaji Zikrullah, in his reaction assured Ajani and Oyo state government of his readiness to partner oyo state with assurances of more opportunities to the people of oyo state who he described as law abiding in the Holy land.

Engr Olasunkanmi Joseph Tegbe, a PDP senatorial candidate in Oyo South, has formally inaugurated his local government campaign coordinators and committees in preparation for the next general election.

The Oyo south senatorial district chairman, Chief Ojelabi, the director general of Tegbe’s campaign, hon. Adeniyi Adeyinka Kazim Bibire, all of the PDP party’s local government chairmen in the Oyo south senatorial district, other PDP stakeholders, and the entire campaign team were present at the inauguration.

Numerous PDP stakeholders attended the campaign team’s inauguration at the Tafo Arena in Ibadan to celebrate with them.

In his remarks, Hon. Adeniyi Adeyinka Kazim, also known as “Bibire,” the director general of Tegbe’s campaign council, asked the campaign team to coordinate their efforts with those of all other political interest groups and stakeholders in order to win the 2023 election.

Engineer Olasunkanmi Joseph Tegbe, the PDP senatorial candidate for Oyo South, acknowledged the political shrewdness of each committee on his campaign team in his own remarks and assured them all that they would all receive positive rewards both before and after supporting him in the upcoming election.

In essence, Tegbe stated that as a devout follower of God, he saw his senate campaign as God’s own project, and that in 2023, with the help of the good people of the Oyo south senatorial district and the uncreated creator (God), he will be declared the victor of the Oyo south senatorial seat.

He also expressed his sincere thanks to the members of his powerful campaign council, various committees, and groups for agreeing to collaborate with him to realize his desire to become a senator.

Tegbe gave each campaign team member the assurance that they would all share in the political rewards of their arduous work.

As the clock ticks, one thing remains constant in the minds of the people of Oyo South Senatorial District. They want a move away from the pitiful situation of lack of quality representation on the National front of Nigerian politics. 

The time to change the entire Mickey Mouse gameplay where our people are being used as political specimens is now or never. Although this has been far a hurdle to find a person who is selfless and ready to put our people first before their interest/s. 

But the good news is that today,  starlight for the people of Oyo South has been spotted in Mogaji Tegbe. 

Tegbe is endowed with rock-solid intellectual acumen vis-a-vis his rich and reach negotiating skills are the needed parameters to set the tone for the people of Oyo South to be heard nationally having demonstrated such capabilities in the past.  

We appeal to everyone most especially the youth/s of Oyo South not to let this opportunity slip away from us given the fact that our people have been political hostages to selfish political interests. 

The mandate on which Mogaji Tegbe runs is for every one of us whose voices need to be heard and that is me and you regardless of our political and religious leaning.

ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT: MAKINSON HAS SCORED ANOTHER NEW GOAL, FULFILLING CAMPAIGN PROMISES.

 ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT: MAKINSON HAS SCORED ANOTHER NEW GOAL, FULFILLING CAMPAIGN PROMISES.

The Oyo State Executive Council met and approved the following projects:

1. Reconstruction of 35.6km of road from Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge to Lalupon to Odo Oba (Oyo and Osun boundary) to Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited for a duration of 18 months.

The road has three sections: Section 1 - Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge (7.7km); Section 2 - dualisation of Olodo Bridge to Ogunmakarun junction (500m) and Section 3 - Ogunmakarun Junction to Odo Oba (27.33km) and the contract sum is N12.5 billion.

2. Restoration, modernisation and maintenance of traffic lights at 10 junctions in Oyo State: The contract sum is N247.9 million and the project will be executed under the Alternative Project Funding Approach.

The junctions are Adamasingba - Salvation Army; Queen Elizabeth-Secretariat; NTA-Government House; Oba Akinbiyi-Premier Hotel; Secretariat-Bodija-Awolowo; Bodija Market, Awolowo-Mokola-Sango-Elewure all in Ibadan; Sango-Isale Taba in Saki; Ajegunle in Saki; and Owode in Oyo.
