The Publicity Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) in Oyo State, Engineer Akeem Olatunji has accused members of All Progressive Alliance, APC, in the state of destroying the campaign billboards of the Peoples Democratic Party that have pictures of candidates of the party sponsored by him.

 

Olatunji said members of the oppositions are pained by the rejection of the opposition party and their governorship candidate.

He condemned the alleged act and described it as an action capable of beefing up lawlessness in the state, adding that billboards and posters doesn’t cast vote.

The Federal lawmaker Representing Ibadan Northwest/Ibadan Southwest federal constituency, Honourable Adedeji Stanley Olajide popularly known as ODIDIOMO on Sunday named Honourable Abiola Ayorinde Taoheed as the Director-General of his campaign council.

His appointment was announced shortly after a meeting at the residence of the lawmaker.
According to Odidiomo, Taoheed, is a professional in politics and a grassroot politician whose choice will add value to his campaign and deliver the desired result which is the victory for the party in the federal constituency.

The lawmaker who is adjudged as one if not the best performing federal lawmaker is seeking a second term mandate from his constituents, congratulated Taoheed, urging him to discharge his duties with “absolute loyalty and dedication to the victory of the party in the 2023 election.

 

He described him as a unifier with wealth of experience on grassroot mobilization, whose political experience and doggedness cuts across all divides in the political space of the State.

Odidiomo further called on members of the party to work together in ensuring a landslide win across the 11 wards in Ibadan Northwest and 12 wards in Ibadan Southwest.

Honourable Abiola Ayorinde Taoheed was a two-term member of Oyo State House of Assembly, he represented Constituency 1, Ibadan Southwest from 2003-2011 on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), during which he served as House Committee Chairman on Education and Majority Leader.

He is currently a board member of The Polytechnic Ibadan Governing Council.

Similarly, Odidiomo announced the appointments of Olumide Bello as Deputy Director-General for Ibadan Southwest local government. Bello had contested for House Assembly position on two attempt and he is presently the Secretary for Ibadan Southwest local government Council.

Also appointed was Niyi Ezekiel as the Deputy Director-General for Ibadan Northwest local government. He was the former Vice-Chairman of PDP in Ibadan Northwest, there after, he was elected as ward 8 youth leader.

Speaking after the meeting, the campaign DG, Hon Taoheed commended Odidiomo for finding him worthy to serve as his campaign DG and promised that he and other members of the council would work tirelessly to ensure the lawmaker is reelected for a second term owing to his sterling performance and for not disappointing his constituents.

Bibire in an interview with a popular broadcast journalist, Temitayo Oyeladun on Lagelu FM, BOSENLO, monitored by The populist news on Saturday said “Oyo south PDP Senatorial Candidate, engineer Olasunkanmi Joseph Tegbe is the best among all the candidates vying to become Oyo south senator in the forthcoming general election.

According to Bibire, “Tegbe is the next senator for Oyo south senatorial district ‘TEGBELOKAN’.

Tegbe is coming under a reputable party, peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the best political party in Africa, a party with good antecedents. He boasted.

A perfect example to showcase the quality of our party (PDP) is the superlative performance of the incumbent Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde.

The Governor has continued to put smile on people’s faces through his consistent payment of workers and pensioners salary.

The economy of Oyo state is recycling and we can see the multiplier effect in the state.”

Bibire in his response to some callers, he thanked them for their support to the Seyi Makinde administration and also advised the populace to not always Play politics with everything ,saying if anybody wants to criticize Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, it should be done constructively.

Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde has organized a two-day campaign strategy workshop for all candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with the theme “Contemporary Political Strategy”.

Among those present were Deputy Governor, Barrister Bayo Lawal, Secretary to State Government, Olubanwo Adeosun, Chief of Staff, Hon Segun Ogunwuyi, Senator Hosea Agboola,  Special Advisers on Political Matter and strategy, Security Matter, Chief Press Secretary, Taiwo Adisa, Special Assistant on Print, Moses Alao.

 

The three senatorial candidates include, Mogaji Joseph Tegbe (Oyo South), Chief Bisi Ilaka (Oyo Central) and Akinwole Akinwale (Oyo North).

 

House of Representatives candidates include: Abdulmojeed Mogbonjubola Jagaban, (Oluyole federal federal constituency), Hon Adetokunbo Adeaga, Akinyele/Lagelu, Hon Lanre Sarumi, Ibadan North, Hon Oyedeji Oyesina, Iseyin/Kajola/Itewsiwaju/ Iwajowa, Dr Anthony Adepoju, Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North.
