ACCELERATED DEVELOPMENT: MAKINSON HAS SCORED ANOTHER NEW GOAL, FULFILLING CAMPAIGN PROMISES.
The Oyo State Executive Council met and approved the following projects:
1. Reconstruction of 35.6km of road from Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge to Lalupon to Odo Oba (Oyo and Osun boundary) to Peculiar Ultimate Concerns Limited for a duration of 18 months.
The road has three sections: Section 1 - Iwo Road interchange to Olodo Bridge (7.7km); Section 2 - dualisation of Olodo Bridge to Ogunmakarun junction (500m) and Section 3 - Ogunmakarun Junction to Odo Oba (27.33km) and the contract sum is N12.5 billion.
2. Restoration, modernisation and maintenance of traffic lights at 10 junctions in Oyo State: The contract sum is N247.9 million and the project will be executed under the Alternative Project Funding Approach.
The junctions are Adamasingba - Salvation Army; Queen Elizabeth-Secretariat; NTA-Government House; Oba Akinbiyi-Premier Hotel; Secretariat-Bodija-Awolowo; Bodija Market, Awolowo-Mokola-Sango-Elewure all in Ibadan; Sango-Isale Taba in Saki; Ajegunle in Saki; and Owode in Oyo.
