Chieftain of the People's Democratic Party(PDP), Dr Hellen Taiwo-Adebakin has described the latest huge defection of members of the opposition political parties into the ruling party in Oyo State as a good omen to the return bid of governor Seyi Makinde.

 Chieftain of the People's Democratic Party(PDP), Dr Hellen Taiwo-Adebakin  has described the latest huge defection of members of the opposition political parties into the ruling party in Oyo  State as a good omen to the return bid of governor Seyi Makinde. 





Dr Adebakin who is Secretary of the serving and former National ex officio members of the PDP commended some former  leaders of the opposition who led hundreds of their supporters to the PDP."



The national coordinator, Women in Politics also disclosed  that the new political development in Oyo Stste was big blow to the opposition's quest to unseat governor Makinde in the 2023 General Elections. 

According to Adebakin, the large defection of opposition into PDP was an attestation to the impressive performance of the PDP administration in Oyo State .

" I receive the news of defection of some key members of the opposition political parties in Oyo State  to the ruling PDP with joy .I want to use opportunity to thank and congratulate all the leaders of the PDP,particularly  governor Seyi Makinde whose impressive performance and attracted   new members to the PDP.


"With the new political development, the task of returning governor Makinde and electing Alhaji Atiku Abubakar  as President in 2023 have been madrvessy " Adebakin said 

Former Speaker, Oyo Assembly, Monsurat Sumonu had  led large number of African Democratic Congress, ADC members including the State Commissioner, for information, culture and tourism, Wasiu Olatunbosun. to the PDP.


Also ,a former chieftain of APC  and Oyo South Senatorial Candidate, Joseph Tegbe of the PDP led some of the Elders  from APC, Akinade Àlàmú from Alliance for Democracy, AD, Pastor Taiwo Otegbeye and Sheu Akeugbagold  to the ruling PDP.
